Restaurant Review: Bridgewater Bistro – Astoria, Oregon We visited Bridgewater Bistro on Father’s Day, and while the restaurant was clearly caught off guard by the holiday rush, we feel it’s important to share both the challenges and the highlights of our experience. It took well over an hour for our meals to arrive, which was understandably frustrating. However, we acknowledge that this delay was likely due to the unusually high volume of guests on a busy holiday, and not reflective of their usual service standards. That said, once the food arrived, it was well worth the wait. The meals were delicious, beautifully prepared, and showcased a creative and unique menu. The flavors were exceptional and clearly crafted with care. The service, while slow due to circumstances, remained attentive and friendly throughout. The ambience of the restaurant is truly outstanding—charming, upscale, and perfectly suited for a special occasion or relaxed fine dining. Despite the delays, we would absolutely recommend Bridgewater Bistro. We recognize that our experience was impacted by the holiday rush, and we believe the quality of the food, atmosphere, and staff more than made up for it. We look forward to returning on a quieter evening to fully enjoy all that this exceptional restaurant has to offer.

To describe the Bridgewater Bistro from the drinks to the food and the service in one word is PHENOMENAL! Sunday night my husband, daughter and myself came for a few drinks. We had the pleasure of Jason being our bartender and he did not disappoint. Awesome drinks and conversation. He is diverse in his craft. We made dinner reservations with Brandon for Monday and the photos do not give the food justice. Visiting from Vegas and our first trip to Astoria will definitely not be the last.

Complete tourist trap. I ordered $47 halibut (that’s a lot of money) and 40 minutes later i received a ~1.5 inch by ~1.5 blocky piece of halibut (each bite was worth like $15). Completely unacceptable for the price. Also the halibut was undercooked and not seasoned very well. Seemed like the best thing there was the like 200 types of wine they were serving. Only good thing about this place was the very talented piano playing. Walked home hungry and fell asleep eating peanut butter captain crunch.

Service was decent. Dinner was underwhelming. Capper sauce on the over cooked halibut was so salty it was inedible. Boulliabase was flavorless and a thick tomato base. That dish should not be tomato based. All and all pretty disappointed, especially for what the bill came to.

We ate at this restaurant in 2023, we loved the food and our host was great! We came back a few days ago and we fully regret doing so. We walked in and were completely ignored by all workers, it took about 15 minutes to be noticed and seated. Our waitress was completely rude from the start, acting like she didn’t want us there. I ended up getting the $44 salmon which was small and tasteless. My husband got a burger that was so bloody and so undercooked that he couldn’t eat it. We felt very unwelcome. Sad that we chose this place to celebrate our 27th anniversary. Sadly this restaurant has changed for the worse, we won’t be coming back.

Decent place. The Salmon BLT was good, though the bun was to heavy and overwhelmed the flavor of the Salmon. My son had the fish and chips which were good. Service overall was good, though it took awhile and the server had to come back to ask what I had ordered, not a big deal but it was about 10 minutes after I had ordered.

The restaurant is beautiful, but the food and service were lacking. We waited 40 minutes for our food. The server didn’t apologize. The bread didn’t even come until after our entrees.
